Friendly: Angelina Jolie has written a foreword for her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton's memoir

Their relationship was well-documented in the media thanks to their bizarre displays of affection, including wearing vials of each other’s blood around their necks.
But Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton have always remained friendly, despite an abrupt end to their marriage after just three years.
And now, almost nine years since their divorce was finalised, 36-year-old Angelina has showed just what good terms the pair are on by writing a foreword for her ex-husband’s memoir.

Whirlwind: The pair split after just three years of marriage in 2003

Billy Bob, 56, has penned his life story in the pages of The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts, which will be published on May 15.
While readers will have to wait to discover what words Angelina has chosen to scrawl in tribute to her second husband, a descriptive preview of the candid book has been released. It says: ‘There is—and could only ever be—one Billy Bob Thornton: actor, musician, Academy Award-winning screenwriter, and accidental Hollywood b*****.

Looking to the future: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are rumoured to be planning to wed

‘In ‘The Billy Bob Tapes,’ he leads us into his Cave Full of Ghosts, spinning colourful tales of his modest (to say the least) Southern upbringing, his bizarre phobias (komodo dragons?), his life, his loves (including his heartbreakingly brief marriage to fellow Oscar winner Angelina Jolie), and, of course, his movie career.’
It comes after it was reported last week that Billy Bob is set to make a film about their whirlwind romance.
Billy Bob said the film is about: 'a guy who's on a road trip and picks up this girl along the way, and what happens to them. It's about the question of life: "What is this? Where do I fit in?"'
