
Diane Kruger conquered Cannes as she channelled a Victorian era aristocrat in a massive Christian Dior couture gown.
All eyes shifted to the model-turned-actress when she arrived in the high fashion confection at the closing ceremony of the 65th Cannes Film Festival and Therese Desqueyroux premiere.
Diane, who served as a festival juror, nearly stole the spotlight with her black and gown from Dior's Spring 2012 collection.
The Inglourious Basterds actress paired the design with small, sparkling earrings, flawless make-up and wore her hair pulled back into an elegant ponytail.
Later, the 35-year-old was joined on the red carpet by fellow jurors, Alexander Payne, Hiam Abbass, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Emmanuelle Devos, Nanni Moretti, Andrea Arnold, Raoul Peck and Ewan McGregor.

The ceremony marked the end of the star-studded festival, which culminated with the handing out of the coveted Palm d'Or award.
Also on the red carpet for the closing gala, Australia actress and singer Kylie Minogue who arrived in an elegant purple gown.
Minogue co-stars in Holy Motors, a drama about a Frenchman named Monsieur Oscar, who journeys from one life to the next as a captain of industry, assassin, beggar, monster and family man.


The Palm d'Or went to Michael Haneke for his deeply moving picture Amour (Love), about a French couple in their 80s who try and cope when the wife comes ill.
Audience members wept when they watched the film at screenings in Cannes.
Haneke last won the Palm d'Or in 2009 for his film The White Ribbon, which went on to receive two Academy Award nominations.
