Attending Hollywood producer Joel Silver's Memorial Day barbecue in Malibu yesterday, Selena was going for a friendly, relaxed look in her grey smiley face maxi dress. Despite her boyfriend Justin Bieber being absent from the party as he flew to Norway to begin his European promotional tour, it didn't seem to affect Selena's upbeat mood.
Her afternoon partying came a day after her date with Justin was upset by his alleged clash with a paparazzo.
The Wizards Of Waverly Place star was with the singer when he allegedly had an altercation with a photographed outside a cinema in the Los Angeles suburb of Calabasas.
Missing Justin? The teenager arrived solo at the party after her boyfriend flew to NorwayA spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department confirmed they were investigating a complaint that Justin 'physically battered' a man who as taking photos of the singer.
Spokesperson Lillian Peck said they investigating the case as a misdemeanour battery complaint and were looking for any possible eyewitnesses.
Justin's representative is yet to comment.
Chilled out: Selena joined a host of celebrities at the afternoon party by the beachWhile her Canadian boyfriend was abroad, Selena had plenty of showbiz friends to mingle with.
Also at the barbecue was Ashley Greene, Josh Hartnett, Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Robert Downey Jnr, Tobey Maguire, Barbra Streisand and James Brolin.
Memorial Day is an annual public holiday in the U.S. and a day of remembrance for fallen Armed Forces.
